VBS Day 1!
We had a great first day at Sonrise National Park! Participants and volunteers both were excited as we began our day. We gathered at the Fireplace first thing in the morning and talked about what to expect for the day. We then read the story of Jesus calming the storm while he and his disciples were on a boat on the Sea of Galilee. The children memorized the verse from David’s Psalm: “God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble.” The children then rotated between the various areas: Geyser Gorge, Beaver Theater, The Pavilion, Campfire Stories and The Lodge. They played frisbee and football at Geyser Gorge. They learned about the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima at Beaver Theater. They made a boat at The Pavilion, learned more about our Scripture story at Campfire Stories and had a great snack of bark and animal crackers at The Lodge. All in all, it was a great day!

Everyone gathered at the Fireplace with Ranger Ballard and Mrs. Davis. Don’t worry, nothing is on fire!
