VBS Day 3!
We are half way through our Sonrise National Park Vacation Bible School. Day 3 went off without a hitch! The children gathered, as always, at the Fireplace to hear the story of Jesus’ temptation in the desert. The children learned that Jesus was able to overcome temptation because of his trust in God’s power. They also learned that we will never be tested beyond our power. At the Beaver Theater the children learned about St. Macarius who had to deal with temptations of his own. He also tried to pay good deeds forward whenever possible. The children learned the value of paying good deeds done to us forward. At the Pavilion the children made a glacier candle to symbolize power, especially the power of God in our lives. At Campfire Stories the children learned more about our Scripture of the day. At Geyser Gorge the children played capture the flag (a VBS classic!). Our snack of the day was s’mores…you can never go wrong with s’mores!

Children watch intently as the Vacation Bible School players act out a modern day adaptation of a skit about St. Macarius the Younger.

Children enjoy s’mores during snack time. We finally managed to get the fire started to roast those marshmallows!
